Anime Based on the Disney Twisted-Wonderland Smartphone Game

Anime based on the game featuring characters inspired by Disney villains.

The Disney Plus subscription service's official Japanese Twitter account announced on Thursday that the Disney Twisted-Wonderland smartphone game is inspiring an anime adaptation project. There were no other specifics provided in the announcement.

In March 2020, the game was released in Japan. The first TV commercial featured the Heartslabyul Dormitory, which was inspired by Alice in Wonderland, and the second featured the Savanaclaw Dorm, which was inspired by The Lion King.

Yana Toboso, the creator of the Black Butler manga, was in charge of the game's basic concept, narrative, and character designs. The game's opening video was animated by TROYCA, while the opening theme song "Piece of my World" was sung by Night Ravels.

The game is billed as a "villains academy adventure game" with rhythm game aspects and combat, and it stars characters based on Disney villains.

The tale of the game begins when the protagonist is transported to another planet by a magical mirror. The main character arrives at "Night Ravens College," a prominent magic training school. With nowhere else to go, the main character is offered safety by the school's masked headmaster, and learns about the school's uncooperative but brilliant students while attempting to find a way home.

There are seven dorms at Night Ravens College. Different Disney classics, such as Alice in Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Snow White, Hercules, The Lion King, and Sleeping Beauty, inspired the characters for each dormitory.

Sumire Kowono and Wakana Hazuki published Disney Twisted-Wonderland, a manga based on the game. On March 18, Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine published The Comic: Episode of Heartslabyul.

Disney Plus Japan's Twitter account is the source of this information.
